Geraldine “Dean” Hagemeister, 81, of Dryden passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. She was born November 11, 1937 in St. Clair Shores, the daughter of Conrad and Louise (LaBeau) Baron. She married Gerald Hagemeister on April 12, 1958 and together they moved to Dryden in 1959. She had worked at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant; along with her husband she owned and operated The Crusty Hut in Dryden; had served as Dryden Village Clerk, working on the election board; and worked in the Dryden School cafeteria. She was also a long time Girl Scout Leader and an active member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. Dean enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking and scrapbooking and the Detroit Pistons. She also loved to travel and spend time at their cabin.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry; her children, Tim (Peggy) Hagemeister of Attica; Debbie (John) Osmun of Burton; Lisa (Lyman) Owens of Marlette; Mark Hagemeister (Pamela) of Dryden and Sandy (Ken) Biggs of Dryden; grandchildren, Brian (Deana) Hagemeister, Daniel (Sara) Hagemeister, Amy Tanis, Jason (Kelley) Hagemeister, Adam (Jennifer) Osmun, William (Lindsey) Osmun, Kristina (Jamie) Amend, Eric (Nicole) Watz, Yvette (Mark) McMullen, Jamie (Cindi) Owens, Lyman Jr. (Breanna) Owens, Miranda Hagemeister, Jake Hagemeister, Brendan Biggs, Tyler Biggs, Nicolas Verran and Mason Verran; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers, Conrad “Butch” (Carole) Baron of Imlay City and Lloyd (Patricia) LaBeau of Cape Coral, FL and one sister-in-law Claudette Baron of New Baltimore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Robert Baron; brother Richard Baron; sister Margaret Mathew; and great-grandson Gage Hagemeister.

Funeral Mass was held at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. Fr. Mike Gawlowski officiated. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden.
