Williard (Bill) Bishop

Age: 85
Willard (Bill) Bishop, age 85, of Attica, went to be with Christ Jesus on July 28, 2018 at McLaren Flint. Bill was born August 13, 1932 to Willard and Edith (Tibbits) Bishop in St. Clair County.

He attended Capac High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He served on a destroyer and throughout his life continued to enjoy boating and water activity.

He married Ardis Winn in Columbus, MI at the Columbus Baptist Church on October 4, 1952.

He enjoyed being active and was helpful to anyone that could use his assistance. In his retirement years he very much enjoyed being a Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputy Reserve Officer. He was a lifetime member of the Almont-Dryden F & AM #51 Masons. He loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ardis; a son, Curtis of Attica; son, Jeffrey of Attica; grandsons, Joshua (Melissa) Bishop of Attica, and Jake Bishop of FL; great granddaughters, Cecilia and Eliana

Bishop of Attica; sister-in-law Rose Bishop of Almont; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by grandson Jeremy Jon Bishop; his parents; two brothers, Orville and Keith; also by four sisters, Beatrice Janosh, Marie Hayes, Leota Pohl and Bonnie Quade.

Memorial service will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Attica United Methodist Church, 27 Elk Lake Rd., Attica.

Pastor Ron Rouse will officiate.

Memorial donations may be given to the Attica United Methodist Church.
