Danyahl Colette McQueen, age 45, of Imlay City, formerly of Attica, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at McLaren Flint Region Medical Center. Danyahl was born March 15, 1972 in Lapeer, MI. She is the daughter Katharine Lee (Russell) Verbeke. Danyahl was a Class of 1996 graduate of Imlay City High School. She married James McQueen in 2000 in Lapeer, Michigan. She held various jobs before becoming a stay-at-home mother to her three beautiful children. Danyahl was an avid bowler; she bowled in a Cedar Lanes women’s league. She loved camping and fishing (true to her “tom-boy” roots). Danyahl attended Gateway Assembly of God Church in Imlay City.
She is survived by one daughter: Janessa McQueen; two sons: Jaydan McQueen and Jaxsan McQueen; her mother Katharine (Fred) Ragatz of Imlay City; sisters: Janielle (Eric) Ryan of West Bloomfield, MI and Paige (Ken) Spears of Lake Orion, MI. Also surviving are her nephew: Brennan Ryan; and her best friend: Julie Baker. Danyahl was preceded in death by her husband: James McQueen; and by her grandparents: Duane and Bonnie Russell.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, August 5 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Officiating was Pastor David Krist of the Gateway Assembly of God.
