Eleanor “Mabel” Burlingame, age 87, a resident of Almont since 1944, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Medilodge of Yale. She was born July 4, 1923 the daughter of William S. and Ellen (Ferrett) Smith in Goodland Twp.
She married her husband Howard Burlingame on June 24, 1944 in Imlay City. She was a waitress at the Almonte Restaurant for more than 10 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Almont.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Carol Pine of Lapeer, Lorraine (Arthur) Bollaert of Allenton, Lois (Don) Patterson of Plainfield, Illinois and Deborah (Chris) Danielsen of Howell. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn (Fred) Duncan of Port Huron, Ella Mae Smith of Port Huron; one brother, Orville (Lorraine) Smith of Port Huron.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Howard Burlingame in 1969, and grandson Ken Dittman Jr.
The Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Almont with Pastor Bird officiating. Burial was made at Ferguson Cemetery.
Memorial Donations can be made in Eleanor’s name to the First Baptist Church of Almont.
