William James Davidson, 85, of Mussey Township, died Wednesday evening July 21, 2010 at home.

He was born December 4, 1924, in Cass City the son of the late William and Mary (Wooley) Davidson.

He attended Cass City High School and has been a Capac resident since 1963. William served his country with the United States Marines during WWII from 1942 to 1946.

His marriage to Dorothy Gruber was November 20, 1959, in Keego Harbor. Dorothy passed away November 8, 1992.

William had been employed by Almont Manufacturing, Imlay City, as a mold maker, Goebel Brewery of Detroit for 19 years and Autocraft of Port Huron for ten years until his retirement in 1993.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, tinkering around in his barns, cooking and loved his Chow/Shepherd mix “Lady.”

Surviving are seven children and their spouses, Jessie (Fred) Swant of Wisconsin, Joyce Johnson of Mussey Twp., Jacelyn (David) Kriesch of Mussey Twp., Janice (Patrick) Babcock of Georgia, Jodi (Walter) Green of South Carolina, Dennis (Brenda) Davidson of Florida and Dale (Tammy) Davidson of Port Huron; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Luella Reed; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

A private memorial service will be held by the family. Arrangements assistance was provided by Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac.
