Age: 65
Victor L. VandenBulcke, 65, of Harrison Twp (formerly Dryden) passed away January 15, 2010 in Traveres Florida after a 5 year courageous fight with cancer.

Vic was born March 31st, 1944 in Highland Park, Michigan. His family moved to Utica where he graduated from St. Lawrence High School and married his childhood sweetheart.

He and his family moved to Dryden in 1975 where he spent the next 20 years. Vic worked in auto body repair and pattern and model making trades after spending 15 years as a printer at the Detroit News. He moved back to Utica and spent the next 10 years in sales. He settled in Harrison Township to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Vic was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, golfing and playing basketball. He was also passionate about playing his guitar, singing karaoke, line dancing with his friends and even riding horses, all inspired by his love for the old western movies. At St. Hubert he was a brother in the Knights of Columbus and he was a member of the Belgian American Century Club.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Fairchild of Shelby Twp; daughter Cindy VandenBulcke of Santa Monica, CA; son Jerome (Annette) VandenBulcke and grandson Nathan of Gross Pointe Woods; daughter Renee (Jeff) Kment and grandson Jacob of Harrison Twp.; their mother Irene (Dave) Detroyer-Knoll of Kalispell MT; sister, Susan (Tom) Doane of Rochester; brother-in-law, John (Julie) Detroyer of Capac; sisters-in-law, Delores (Bob) Blake of Richmond, MaryAnn (Tom) Janicki of Almont, Barb (Jeff) Goike-Fritz of Romeo and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Jerome VandenBulcke.

A memorial service will be held at St. Hubert Parish 38775 Prentiss Street, Harrison Twp on June 5th at 10 am. Burial to follow at St. Lawrence cemetery.
