Paul Oviatt, 83, of North Branch, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
Paul Randell Oviatt was born on July 14, 1926 in Syracuse, New York. He was the son of Raymond and Mildred Oviatt. Paul grew up in Warren and attended Lincoln High School. Paul married Glenda Belle Davis on February 1, 1947 in Centerline. She passed away in 1996.
He served his country in the United States Army during WWll.
Paul had lived in Imlay City until the early 1990s. He has lived in Brown City for 15 years and spent the last 3 years in North Branch.
He retired from Vlasic Foods in Imlay City. Paul had worked for Plymouth Motors in Detroit, at J&L Steel in Warren, was a taxi driver for Yellow Cab in Detroit, worked for National Twist Drill in Rochester and for Weyer’s Standard Gas Station in Imlay City.
Paul was a member of the Imlay City American Legion, Imlay City V.F.W. and he was an Imlay City Volunteer Fireman.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula (Brad) Reamer of North Branch; grandchildren, Bradley (Michele) Reamer, Adrienne Reamer and Adam Reamer; great-grandchildren, Madison Reamer and Colton Reamer; brothers, Jerry (Marilee) Oviatt of Caseville and Charles Oviatt of Centerline.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Oviatt; brothers, Raymond and Herb Oviatt.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Burial will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City where the family will be available for visiting from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. A special veterans salute will be held at 7:15 p.m.
