Theresa (Calvelli) Blazo, age 86 of Lapeer, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010. She was born in Lapeer, on April 7, 1924, to Louis and Josephine (Spadafore) Calvelli.

She lived in Lapeer all of her life. She graduated from Lapeer High School class of 1942. Theresa married Howard P. Blazo, Jr. of Lapeer, in 1944. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was active in the Lapeer Regional Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

Mrs. Blazo is survived by her husband Howard; sons and daughters, Virginia (Randy) Laur of Fenton, Mike (Dee) Blazo of Metamora, Josie (Charlie) Hyde of Attica, Barbara (Darrell) Daenzer of Tawas, Angela (Brian) Carpenter of East Lansing, Louis (Starlynn) Blazo of Attica, Cathy (Ron) Logan of Lapeer and Howard (Karen) Blazo III of Coral, MI. Theresa is also survived by many grandchildren and many many great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Rose Kirk of Lapeer.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Frank (killed in France during WWII) and Carlo; sister, Pauline; daughter-in-law, Gwen Blazo and grandbaby, Michelle.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer, Father Douglas Terrein officiating, with burial of cremains at Mt Loretto Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass. Immediate family only to attend burial of cremains.

The Blazo family plans to greet family and friends at the Lapeer Country Club, 3786 Hunt Rd. in Lapeer following the funeral mass, where a luncheon will also be served.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or Suncrest Auxiliary.

Arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
