Age: 68
Norman Bruce Souter, age 68, of Gould City and formerly of Romeo, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born September 27, 1941 the son of Gordon and Margaret (McNeil) Souter in Ferndale.

Norman graduated from Ferndale High School. He married Lois Kristiansen on October 30, 1965 at Mt Calvary Church in Detroit. Norman worked as a Pipe Fitter for 38 years for Ford Motor Company.

He is survived by his loving wife Lois, loving and admiring children Kari (Don) Hite of Palm Coast, Florida, Karen (Chuck) Leemhuis of Allenton, Kristen (Ted) Trottier of Metamora, Erik Souter of Auburn Hills; adoring grandchildren Melissa (Kevin Van De Steene) Leemhuis, Justin Leemhuis, Jason Souter, Nick Trottier, Heather Trottier, and Ethan Souter. Norman was preceded in death by his brother Gray Fowler.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was known for his sense of humor and his story telling. Norman was an avid gun collector and sportsman, who instilled a love of guns and the outdoors in his children and grandchildren.

Norman loved his dogs, gardening, garage sales and traveling between his home in the Upper Peninsula and his home in Florida. He was a great husband, father, papa and friend. Norman will be greatly missed by all who have been lucky enough to have known him.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 28, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m. at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home, 296 S. Main St., Romeo, 48065. The Rev. William Brooks of the Twelve-Ryan Baptist Church of Warren will officiate.

There will also be visitation Sunday, May 2, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry, Michigan. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Beaulieu Funeral Home, 110 West Truman Boulevard, Newberry, 49868. The Rev. William Brooks of the Twelve-Ryan Baptist Church of Warren will officiate. Burial will be made at Newton Twp. Cemetery.
