Debora Manns age 54, of North Branch passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion IL, where she was surrounded by her loving family. Debora Marie Krake was born November 4, 1955 in Marlette. She was a daughter of John and Margaret Krake. She lived most of her life in the North Branch area. Debora was a 1974 graduate of North Branch High School and attended Baker College. She married Rick Curtis Manns on June 25, 1983 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burnside Twp and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Debora was a licensed beautician. She worked at Oakdale Center in Lapeer, was a Reserve Deputy for the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department and worked for 15 years at the Perry’s Drug Store in Imlay City. She taught at St. Thomas More Academy in Burton for six years, then taught at Our Lady Academy in Burton for two years. For the past six years she co-owned D & L Pies and Cheesecake Co. in Goodrich Township.

Debora is survived by her sons; Bryan, Brad, and Ben of North Branch; sisters, Janice (Robert) Gottschalk of North Branch and Renee Krake of Irving, Texas; father-in-law, Don (Evy) Manns of Lexington; In-laws, Kelly (Robert) Graham of Commerce Twp, and Kirk (Carol) Manns of Clinton Twp.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rick Curtis Manns (June 12, 2009); her parents, John and Margaret Krake and her mother-in-law, Gail Manns.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Burnside. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, North Branch. Friends may call at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 Main Street, Imlay City where the family will be available for visiting 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a 6 p.m. Wednesday evening Rosary Service.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to her sons in lieu of flowers.
