LeVern “Vern” Tucker 72, of Almont passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at his home. He was born July 7, 1937 in Romeo, the son of William A. and Lucile I. (Ebeling) Tucker. Vern has been running the family farm since he was 14 years old and was very active in the FFA in his younger years. He served as Almont Twp. Supervisor for 12 years and was a state certified assessor for 20 years. He was a member of the Romeo F&AM for 41 years as well as the Farm Bureau, MMPA and the Almont First Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Nash) Tucker; son Bill (Sue) Tucker of Romeo; daughter Lisa (Rob) Shalvis of Armada; stepchildren, Paul Anderson of Almont, Chad (Christina) Anderson of Imlay City and April (Rich) Wilson of Almont. Also surviving are grandchildren Sarah, Katie and Julia Tucker; Maleah Shalvis; Brooke, Connor, Trevor and Tyler Anderson; Amanda and Austin Wilson; mother-in-law Madeliene Nash. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be missed by his close family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont with Rev. Michael Lutz of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb officiating.
