Remi Albert Wylin of Berville died Friday, January 15, 2010 at his home at the age of 92 years.

Remi was born September 21, 1917 in Armada Township, a son of Peter A. and Martha (nee Vanlerberghe) Wylin. On December 2, 1939, Remi married Jennie M. Bassier at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Allenton. In 1985, Remi retired from farming. He was a founding member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Ushers’ Club, a Life Member and Past President of the Berville Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Foundation Fellow. Remi was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus Council #4556 in Imlay City, the 4th Degree Color Corps and was a Knight of the Year Recipient. He enjoyed golfing and was always willing to cook for the Lions Club and church events.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie; sons, James (JoAnne) Wylin of Memphis and Dennis Wylin of Macomb; daughter, Janice Patton of Armada; grandchildren, Jeff (Della) Wylin, Greg (Wendy) Wylin, Laurie Wylin, Douglas (Charina) Wylin, Jennifer Davis, Jamie (John) Edwards, Kerry (Tracy) Dubaere, Michelle Macker, Wynde Dubaere, Jolene (Sean) Smith, Angelique (Thadeus Sztajer) Wylin, Alyn (Steve Johnson) Drewek and Michael Wylin; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Bill (Irene) Wylin of Richmond Township; and sister, Helen (George) Whiting of Memphis.

Remi was predeceased by a great-granddaughter; siblings, infant Maggie, Maurice, Archiel and Richard Wylin, Blanche Vanlerberghe, Elza Vanpoelvoorde and Germaine Traub; and son-in-law, Mickey Patton.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 883 Capac, Allenton with the Rev. Fr. Gerry Frawley celebrant. Burial will follow in West Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township.

Rosary service was held Tuesday evening at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home in Armada.
