Harold “Ozzie” Henry Oswald, 75, of Imlay City (formerly a longtime resident of Almont), passed away December 8, 2009.

He was born June 11, 1934, the son of Rudolph and Sophia Oswald in Minden City, MI.

Mr. Oswald attended Minden City High School prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army. He married Shirley Gottschling on December 28, 1957 in Capac.

Harold retired from Ford Motor Company. Ozzie was known in the area for taking care of trees and lawns for the older folks. He was a member of the Almont American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Candy (James) Schoonover of Shelby Twp.; five grandchildren, Cassie Schoonover of Washington, MI, Courtney Schoonover of Shelby Twp., Christopher Schoonover of Shelby Twp., James (Megean) Duff, of Delaware and Megan Duff of Delaware; two great-grandchildren, Addy Rose and Ian; one brother, Eugene (Jackie) Oswald of St. Petersburg, FL; one son-in-law James Duff of Delaware; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Cheryl Duff; his siblings, Cline, Melvin, Roy, and Alice.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont with visitation from 3-6 p.m. and services at 6 p.m. Members of the Almont American Legion will provide military honors.
