Dean Christiansen, 87, of Attica Township, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Brianís House in Davison.
Harold Dean Christiansen was born on February 25, 1922 in Attica. He was the son of Frank and Belle Christiansen. He spent most of his life in Attica. Dean was an Imlay City High School graduate class of 1940.
He married Jean Luella Upleger on August 9, 1947 in Imlay City.
Dean served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge and the Attica United Methodist Church.
Dean had worked for Imlay City Telephone Co., Chrysler Missile Plant in Sterling Heights plant security department, and Remis & Sons Road Construction in Bay City. He also farmed and raised show cattle. He retired from Lapeer Community Schools as a custodian in 1987.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Valerie) Christiansen of Waterford; daughter, Kathy (Larry) Clark of Peck; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Christiansen in September 2009; sisters, Vera Jean Russell and an infant sister, Mary Christiansen.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. today (Wed., Dec. 16) at the Attica United Methodist Church. Pastor Margie Bryce will officiate.
Visitation will be held noon until 2 p.m. at Attica United Methodist Church.
