Erle J. “E.J.” Millikin, age 90, of Dryden passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at his home.
E.J. was born April 18, 1919. He graduated from Dryden High School and then served 4 years in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Millikin married Louise Ellis in 1952.
E.J. ran the family business, Millikin Lumber Company in Dryden, which his father and grandfather started in 1909, for over 50 years until he retired.
He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dryden, a member of the Dryden Historical Society, and served on the Dryden Village Council and DDA. He was a lifetime Mason.
Mr. Millikin is survived by his daughter, Penny Millikin of Almont. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erle and Pearl Millikin and his wife Louise.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont. Rev. Sue Rich officiated. Private burial took place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden.
