Age: 66
Darleen Patricia Carroll, 66, of Capac, was received into her Lord’s hands Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. She passed peacefully after a long courageous battle with a serious illness. Her loving family was beside her side throughout her final hours.

Darleen was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on March 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Theodore and Emmaline (Vadnais) Giguere and graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1961.

Her marriage to Douglas Carroll was August 18, 1962, in Ishpeming and they had made their life and home in Capac since 1963. For many years she worked for H & R Block. She was dedicated to many volunteer functions through St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the community. Her generous nature and big heart were great gifts that she gave freely throughout her life.

Surviving in addition to her husband Douglas of 47 years are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jodi of Grand Blanc and Jon and Sherry of Shelby Twp.; an extraordinary “Nana” to Zachary, twins Jacob and Allison, Andrew, Crystal, Katherine “Catie” and Ian; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and Glenn Jackson of Lakeside, CA and Margaret and Jack Parent of Marquette, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joseph and Carolyn Giguere of Grand Rapids and Clarence Giguere of Marquette; sister-in-law, Nancy Giguere of Knoxville, TN and Patricia (Raymond) Kegler of Las Vegas, NV. Darleen will be also missed by many nieces, nephews and friends who were blessed by her capacity to love each and every one of them in a special way. She shared many happy times with her close friends and bingo buddies Pat and Jan. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Annette Marie (1963) and brother, Ted Giguere.

Rite of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 14 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Capac. Fr. Wayne Ureel, pastor, officiated. Rosary devotion services were held Friday at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Nicholas Catholic Church or American Liver Foundation 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, New York, NY 10038-4810.
