John Moyer III

Age: 49
John Moyer III, 49, of Dryden, previously of Berkley, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy.

John Wesley Moyer III was born on January 29, 1960 in Detroit. He was the son of John W. and Margaret Moyer, Jr. He grew up in Royal Oak and graduated from Dondaro High School in Royal Oak class of 1978. He earned his Electrical Engineer degree from Macomb Community College.

He married Diane Kay Simpson on August 13, 1983 in Royal Oak.

John worked for Ford Motor Company Mound Road Axle Plant in Sterling Heights as a parts analyst. He also was a supervisor at Visteon in Sterling Heights for around 7 years.

John enjoyed fishing and he was a big fan of the Tigers, Red Wings and U of M.

He coached varsity soccer at Dryden High School and coached summer boys’ and girls’ softball and baseball in Dryden.

John is survived by his wife, Diane Moyer of Dryden; son, John W. Moyer IV of Dryden; daughters, Brianna N. Moyer of Muncie, Ind. and Alyssa V. Moyer of Charlotte, NC; his parents, John and Margaret Moyer, Jr. of Royal Oak; parents-in-law, Rodger and Marilyn Simpson of Dryden; sister, Catherine (Kirk) Kimberley of Columbus Twp.; sister-in-law, Deborah (Gregg) Wahl of Dryden; 10 nieces and nephews and one great-niece. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roger Simpson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 17 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. Father Wayne Ureel, pastor of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, officiated.

Rosary/scripture service was held Friday evening at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.
