Dorothy Jager, age 101, of Imlay City passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility
Dorothy Dekema was born on January 12, 1908 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the daughter of Frank and Anna Dekema. She grew up in Kalamazoo. Dorothy spent most of her life in Imlay City.
She married Fred Jager on May 8, 1926 in Kalamazoo. She was a homemaker and a member of Imlay City Christian Reformed Church.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Lewis Jager of Imlay City and Donald (Ozzie) Jager of Grand Rapids; daughters, Polly (Bob) Hatfield of California and Alice Marshall of Tennessee; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Rich (Dorothy) Dekema of Kalamazoo. She is preceded in death by husband, Fred Jager in 1963; sons, John, Frank, Robert and Gerard Jager; daughters, Frances Sedorchuk and Lois Miller; daughter-in-law, Jean Jager; and her parents, Frank and Anna.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today (Wed., July 15) at Imlay City Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Gary Klumpenhower will officiate. Burial will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City where the family will be available for visiting from 9:30-11 a.m. today at the church.
