Thomas Earl Ellis, 58, of Capac, lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 3, 2009 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Sunday, April 15, 1951, in Memphis the son of Earl and Delores (Karash) Ellis.

Tom was owner of Ellis Construction for over 35 years. He was loved and respected by all those who knew him and was never in a hurry. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed rebuilding cars in his tool barn. Every Sunday, he visited his parents and brought them breakfast. He was a loving husband and father.

Surviving in addition to his wife Christine are, sons Corey (Monica), Jimmy (Rachel), and Bryan (Audrée). He was also an awesome Papa to Jack, Lilly, Noah, and Luke Murphy and his special little buddy Jeremy Friedli; his loving parents, Earl and Delores; brother Richard (Ginny) and sister Linda (Clay) Stroup; mother-in-law, Irene Doutry and Ernie Sabada; brothers-in-law John (Mavis) Wiitanen, Bob (Patty) Doutry, Mike (Lynn) Doutry, and Pete (Robin) Doutry, sister-in-law, Cathy (Jack) Meikle and many nieces, nephews and friends. His father-in-law Peter Doutry preceded him in death.

Rite of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 7 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Allenton. Fr. Charles Ratnasamy, pastor, officiated with burial in East Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township. Rosary services were held Monday at Kaatz Funeral Directors.

Memorials are suggested to Blue Water Hospice or “Wishes of the Family.”
