Maxine Wilcox, 74, of Imlay City, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Port Huron Hospital.

Maxine Bea Coe was born on August 25, 1934 in Deerfield Township. She was the daughter of Earl and Verna Coe. Maxine grew up in Fostoria/North Branch. She was a graduate of North Branch High School class of 1952.

She married Lawrence George Wilcox on August 22, 1953 in Angola, Ind. She and Lawrence spent most of their lives in the Imlay City area.

Maxine was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Imlay City. She worked in the Quality Control Department at L-Bar Industries in Lapeer, the Michigan Peat Plant in Imlay City and she was a Home Party sales person.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Lawrence Wilcox of Imlay City; daughters, Carol (Frank) Bublitz of Port Huron, Sandra (Dan) Smith of Port Huron, and Julie (Charles) Eggers of Burchville; 6 grandchildren, Frank Bublitz, Allison Bublitz, Andy Smith, Rachel Smith, Nicholas Eggers, and Aaron Eggers; brothers, Gerry Butterfield of Columbiaville and Curtis “Skip’’ Butterfield of Flint; sister, Cleo Hilts of North Branch; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Watt of Lum. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Verna Coe; brother-in-law, Norman Wilcox and sister-in-law, Gladys Hillman.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today (Wed., July 1) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Pastor James Langebartels of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Imlay City will officiate. Burial will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
