Rick Manns, 48, of North Branch passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 12, 2009 at Marlette Regional Hospital.
Rick Curtis Manns was born on June 20, 1960 in Yale. He was the son of Donald and Gail Manns. He grew up in Brown City. He was a graduate of Brown City High School class of 1979. Rick earned his Bachelors of Education from the University of Michigan Flint campus.
He married Debora Marie Krake on June 25, 1983 in Burnside Township.
Rick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burnside. For 26 years he worked at St. Clair Juvenile Center as a child care supervisor in Port Huron. He had been a teacher at St. Thomas More Academy in Burton for 4 years and a basketball coach at St. Thomas More Academy for 5 years.
Rick was a principal at Our Lady Academy in Flint for 2 years.
Rick is survived by his wife Debora Manns of North Branch; sons, Bryan Manns of North Branch, Brad Manns of North Branch and Ben Manns of North Branch; father, Donald (Evelyn) Manns of Lexington; brother, Kirk (Carol) Manns of Clinton Twp.; sister, Kelly Graham of Carlton; and in-laws, Janice (Robert) Gottschalk of North Branch and Renee Krake of Dallas, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gail Manns.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 15 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burnside Township. Father Richard Treml officiated with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Branch Twp.
Funeral arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.
