Albert Lalonde, 89, of Dryden, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at home after an extended illness.

Albert Joseph Lalonde was born April 9, 1920 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Fabian and Josephine Lalonde. He previously lived in Detroit and 28 years in Dryden.

He was married to Pauline Mary Folino on September 13, 1941 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada.

He served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II.

He had been employed at Chrysler Motors in Detroit at the Hubert Foundry as a pipe fitter for 15 years. He also worked at Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., Dorval Airport in Quebec, and Northern Electric in Lachine, Quebec.

Albert is survived by sons, Robert (Tylene) LaLonde of Warren and Jerry (Lily) LaLonde of Almont; daughter, Janet (Ronald) Miller of Dryden; 13 grandchildren, Dawn (Dave) Glister, Joseph (Deann) LaLonde, Jerry LaLonde, Albert LaLonde, Lynn (Brendon) Lee, Tina (Kevin) Sigman, Mark (Joy) LaLonde, Jeremy LaLonde, Ann (Reine) Melzer, Edward (Shelly) LaLonde, Randy (Pattie) Sir, Ronald (Colleen) Miller, and Don (Wendy) Miller; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and a brother, Jean (Claudette) Lalonde of St. Eaustache, Quebec. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; and six brothers and sisters, Cecile, Lucienne, Reine, Amie, MarieReine and JeanPaul.

Funeral service took place Tuesday at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. Father Wayne Ureel officiated with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dryden.

Funeral arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.
