Rhea Marjorie Bohr

Age: 90
Rhea Marjorie Bohr, age 90, of Attica (formerly a long-time resident of Almont), went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2009.

She was born December 29, 1918 in Detroit, the daughter of Raymond and Jeanette (Cooper) Mansfield. She married Kenneth Bohr on August 30, 1947 in Dearborn.

Mrs. Bohr was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Almont and enjoyed serving as a Sunday school teacher. She volunteered with the Almont Hospital Auxiliary (Almont Community Hospital) and was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan that began in her early days living in Detroit and walking to the ball park.

She had a great love for her grandchildren and was known as “Grandma Stickers” for always sending some in every card.

Mrs. Bohr is survived by her husband Ken; children Janine (Terry) Waterman of Shelby Twp., Bonnie (Tim) Krauss of Almont, and son-in-law Ron Babicz of Sterling Heights; six grandchildren, Hope (Ed) Conley, Teri (Tim) Joyce, Anne (Mike) Bassier, Aaron (Kirsten) Waterman, Keri Waterman, and Kaitlin (Bledi) Lulej; nine great-grandchildren, Joe and Jim Conley, Megan and Shannon Joyce, Julia and Tommy Bassier, Toby and Bella Waterman, and Lexi Lulej; one brother, Dick Mansfield of Alpena; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carole Babicz, three sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter Lisa Susan Waterman.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 12 p.m. (visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.) at the First Baptist Church in Almont with her Pastor, Jim Byrd, officiating. A luncheon follows.
