Peggy Crandall, 91, of Imlay City, previously of Dryden, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy.

Peggy Ethel Barham was born on January 7, 1918 in Tottingham, England. She was the daughter of William and Beatrice Barham. Peggy has lived in Imlay City since 1987. Prior to that she lived in Rochester until 1968 and in Dryden until 1987.

She married LaVern Clark Crandall, Jr. on February 28, 1944 in Hockham, England. She was a British war bride.

Peggy was a member of St. Johnís Episcopal Church in Dryden. She had worked as a receptionist for her daughter at Crandall Accounting in Imlay City. Peggy was also a professional seamstress, loved to knit hats, scarfs and prayer shawls.

Peggy is survived by her daughters: Lynn Craig of Waterford, Gail Grinnell of Davison, Vicki Kolmer of Kent OH, and Trish (Fred) Frontiera of Rochester Hills. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Terri Yanich, Larry Craig, Charles Hartwell, Kelly Hartwell, Carrie Grinnell, Richard Kulmala, Dannielle DeYoung, Jesse Kolmer and Ian Kolmer, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband LaVern Crandall, Jr., grandchild: Joey Brinker and a brother William Barham.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Reverend Susan Rich of St. Johnís Episcopal Church of Dryden officiated.
