Gerald A. Pentecost, 51, of Allenton passed away April 27, 2009. He was born April 20, 1958 in Detroit.

Mr. Pentecost served in Korea during his 4 year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force. He married Debra Johnson on November 30, 1985 in Romeo. He worked in Research and Development at Chrysler and retired in April 2008 after 32 years.

Gerry was a mentor for his son’s high school robotics team “Metal and Soul.’’ He liked to take things apart-but not put them back together! He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, fishing and chickens. He was a master gardener. Most importantly, he was a loving father to his children, was the light of his wife’s life and her best friend.

Gerry is survived by his wife Debra; parents, Donald and Nila (Slowiejko) Pentecost of Rochester Hills; three children, Mary Ann (Mark) Leglise of Nevada, Grant Pentecost of Allenton, and Celeste Pentecost of Allenton; granddaughter, Keara; two siblings, Donald Pentecost of Troy and Kristina (Mark) Hall of South Carolina; nephew Ethan and niece Elizabeth. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Garrett Andrew.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 1 from 3-8 p.m. and funeral service Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont with Pastor Jedediah Willis of First Baptist Church in Deckerville officiating. Burial will follow in East Berlin Cemetery in Berlin Township. Arrangements entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
