Doris F. Stoutenburg, 94, of Capac, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Lapeer Regional Medical Center, Lapeer.

She was born April 1, 1915, in Mt. Clemens, the daughter of late William and Myrtie Sturges Frink.

Her marriage to Harley Stoutenburg was August 20, 1939, in Mt. Clemens. Harley preceded Doris in death February 14, 1997. They made their first home in Wiggons, Mississippi where he managed a plantation of Tung Trees.

Doris and Harley were co-owners of two local businesses and she was a bookkeeper for other local businesses. She was a lifelong member of Capac First United Methodist Church and past treasurer of the church. She was life member of Capac Tri-Star Chapter O.E.S # 56 and former state of Michigan grand chaplain in 1973.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-n-law, Harley Jr. and Diane of Waterford, William and Joni, of Capac, and Jon and Nancy of Imlay City; 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Micha, Rebekah, Mike Bullock, Brandi Bullock, Jon Adam, Billy, Eddie, Lisa, Melissa Asara, Laura Smith, Andrew Schmidt, and Christopher Schwartz; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers William and Howard.

Her family honors the memory of Doris and invites you to visit and share today (Wed., April 15) from 2-8 p.m. with an O.E.S service at 7:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Dale Brown, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Capac, will officiate. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery, Capac.

Memorials are suggested to “Wishes of the Family.”
