Greg Prendergast, 52, of Imlay City, passed away suddenly as a result of an auto accident, Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Gregory James Prendergast was born on January 23, 1957 in Detroit. He was the son of John and Roselyn Prendergast. He grew up in Redford.

He was a graduate of Bishop Borgess High School in Redford. He earned his Bachelors of Education Degree from the University of Michigan and Masters Degree in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University.

Greg married Linda Ann Robertson on June 28, 1980 in Redford. He had lived in Imlay City since 1990. He attended Lapeer Community Church in Attica.

Greg taught for his first 5 years at a couple of different Christian Schools. For the past 22 years he has taught math, algebra, stock club, life skills and economics to 5th, 6th and 7th graders at Armada Middle School.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Prendergast of Imlay City; son, Gregory J. Prendergast II of Kalamazoo; daughter, Michaja Prendergast of Chicago; his mother, Roselyn Prendergast of Livonia; brothers, John (Clare) Prendergast of Olathe, KS, Jeff Prendergast of Livonia, and Mark Prendergast of Livonia; and sisters, Carol (Jim) Bryant of Grand Rapids and Mary Beth (Tom) Dubreus of Howell. He is preceded in death by his father, John Prendergast.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 29 at the Lapeer Community Church in Attica. Pastor Rick Schwab and Pastor Rodney Sanderson-Smith officiated. Committal services and burial followed at the Imlay Township Cemetery.
