Albert James Draper “Red,” age 69, a lifelong resident of Almont passed away February 26, 2009. He was born November 11, 1939 in Almont to Clark and Florence (Muma) Draper.
He graduated from Almont High School in 1960 before entering the U.S. Army.
Mr. Draper proudly worked for Ford Motor Company as a vehicle test driver before retiring. He was a woodsman and enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and especially loved to be up north at his cabin in Grayling. He cherished spending time with his family. His biggest love was his only granddaughter.
Mr. Draper is survived by his daughter, Alesha (Bill) Kuehl of Swartz Creek; granddaughter, Elizabeth; sister, Mary Powell of Mt. Clemens; nieces, Debra (William) Pummer of Mt. Clemens, Dianne (Michael) Sarafinski of Macomb Twp. and Dawn (Michael) Stokes of Mt. Clemens; and nephew, Duane (Dyan) Powell of Allenton. He is also survived by seven great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Draper is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 1 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
