Carl Meyer, 61, of Imlay City, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at home.
Carl was born on June 23, 1947 in Almont. He was the son of Gustave Bud and Maude Meyer. He spent most of his life in the Imlay City community. He is a graduate of Imlay City High School class of 1965.
Carl worked at Almont Mfg. Co. in Imlay City as a metalurgist until they closed in the mid-1980s.
He bowled on a league at Cedar Lanes in Imlay City.
Carl is survived by his brother, Bob (Linda) Meyer of Newark, Ohio; nephew, Dwane Meyer; niece, Alvena (Jeff) Allbaugh; great-nephews, Nicholas Meyer, Jeffrey Allbaugh and Ross Allbaugh; great-niece, Sarah Meyer; and special cousins, Rich and Carol (Meyer) Parks of Imlay City. He is preceded in death by his parents Bud in 1986 and Maude Meyer in 1993.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, at Imlay City Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Kenneth VanderHorst with Imlay City Christian Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City where the family will be available for visiting from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. today (Wed., Feb. 4).
