Marie Dahn, 82, of Utica, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac.
Marie Frances Tucker was born on May 3, 1926 in Goodland Township. She was the daughter of Arlington and Alta Tucker.
Marie grew up in the Imlay City area. She was a graduate of Imlay City High School class of 1944. She has lived in Utica since the early 1960s.
She married Howard William Dahn on August 1, 1959 in Capac. Howard died in 1985.
Marie received her BA Degree from Western Michigan University and she earned her Masterís Degree and Specialist Degree from the University of Michigan. She was a founding member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teacherís Sorority.
She was a special education teacher in Capac. She spent the majority of her career with the Utica Community Schools, teaching at Wiley, Plumbrook, Montford and Shelby Jr. High School.
Marie is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Dahn; her parents, Arlington and Alta; and a brother, Faye Tucker.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. The Reverend David Goudie, pastor of the Utica United Methodist Church officiated. Interment followed at Imlay Township Cemetery. An Alpha Delta Kappa Memorial Service was held Friday afternoon.
