Marion Gibbard McCall, 79, of Flint, previously of Goodells and Imlay City, passed away Friday, November 28, 2008 at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc.

Marion Lou Hoisington was born on May 12, 1929 in Imlay City. She was the daughter of Fred and Marion Hoisington. She grew up in the Imlay City and Attica area.

Marion was a 1947 graduate of Imlay City High School. She earned her teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.

She married her first husband, Vernon “Moe’’ Gibbard on August 16, 1953. He died in 1976. She married Ross McCall on July 21, 1984 in Goodells. Ross passed away on November 8, 2005.

Marion was a Past President of FOE (Eagles Auxiliary #4082) in Imlay City, a member of Berville VFW Auxiliary, Imlay City American Legion Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge in Port Huron and in Florida. She also belonged to the Ostomy Club in Port Huron.

She bowled for several years at Cedar Lanes in Imlay City. Marion worked a total of 32 years in Imlay City and North Branch as a school teacher. She spent the last 18 years at Imlay City Community Schools.

Marion is survived by her daughter, Maureen Humphrey of Flint; grandchildren, Zane Humphrey of Flint and Amber Humphrey of Flint; great-grandchild, Kaden Marden of Flint; step-children, Sally (Arnie) Jackson of Goodells and Earl McCall of Rawlings, Wy.; step-grandchildren, Kaylene Jaciuk of Goodells and Brent (Jenna) Jackson of Port Huron; step-great-grandchildren, Katie Jaciuk and Shawna Jackson; sisters, Rachael MacFarlane of Florida and Patricia Foster of St. Clair; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her spouses Vernon “Moe’’ and Ross; her parents; 10 brothers and sisters, Lenore Kruse, Pearl Thurston, Dorothy and Kathleen Hoisington, Myrtle Becker, Gloria Gilbert, Arnault Hoisington, Miles Hoisington, Woodrow Hoisington, Ford Hoisington and Russell Hoisington.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Pastor Henry Brinker of Imlay City First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate.

Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City, where the family will be available for visiting from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4. There will be an Imlay City FOE Memorial 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
