Cynthia Ann Hoover (Sabatini)

Cynthia Ann Hoover (Sabatini)

Age: 53
Cynthia Ann Hoover (Sabatini), 53, was taken by the Lord on November 16 after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Pontiac on August 18, 1955. She was raised in Lake Orion, where she worked at her father’s store, LS Family Foods.

Cindy attended grade school at St. Joseph’s School in Lake Orion and went to high school at the Dominican Academy in Oxford.

In 1983, she was married to Michael Hoover of Oxford. She was the loving mother of Patrick, Sarah, Holly, Anna, and the late Michael Joseph Jr. In 1992, she and her family moved from Lake Orion to Almont.

Cindy was very family oriented and stopped working at the store so that she could stay home with her children. Aside from taking care of her family, she was also actively involved at her children’s schools and at her church, St. Cornelius in Dryden, where she taught catechism. She enjoyed doing art, reading, gardening, building puzzles, and completing crossword puzzles. Cindy especially loved caring for and working with young children.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Michael and their four children; her parents, Leopoldo and Rose Sabatini; her siblings, Sherry (Jim) Purdy, Leo (Harriet) Sabatini, Linda (Don) Guldi, Rose (Tom) Schoen and Maryann (Kirk) Curtis; her siblings-in-law, Jeanne (Robert) Kitzman, Anne (John) Infurna, Thomas Hoover, Sheila (Edward) Roden, Maureen (Michael) Bruner and Mary (Michael) Dempsey; also her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was also the loving daughter-in-law of the late Henry and Mildred Hoover.

Visitations were held at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 18 with a rosary service Tuesday night. Her funeral was held Wednesday, November 19, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. She is interred at Eastlawn Cemetery in Lake Orion.
