Lu Anne Miller, 73, of Dryden, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.

Lu Anne Ward was born on March 5, 1935 in Utica. She was the daughter of Albert and Bernice Ward. She grew up in Imlay City and the Lapeer area.

Lu Anne was a 1953 graduate of Imlay City High School. She spent the last 10+ years in Dryden. She married John G. Miller on September 22, 1977 in Wake Village, TX.

Lu Anne retired from Imlay City High School where she worked as a special needs aid. She had a certificate in Mental Health Care and worked in a group home. She also worked for Vlasic Foods in Imlay City.

She is survived by her son, James Friedenstab of Glendale, AZ; her daughters, Diane Harvey of Battle Creek and Cheryl Friedenstab of St. Petersberg, FL.; a grandchild, Anthony Rivett of St. Petersberg, FL.; brothers, George (Betty) Ward of Millington and Jim (Cathy) Ward of Galesburg; and 2 step-sisters, Patricia (Duane) LaBair of Mayville and Susan (Matt) Peraino of Clarkston.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Miller; parents, Albert Ward and Bernice Ward Fuller; step-father, Lloyd Fuller; sister, Sandra Ward Conklin; and step-sister, Sandra March.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 11 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. The Reverend Ralph Piper, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lapeer officiated. Burial followed at Imlay Township Cemetery.
