Clifford Wayne Kaufman, 78, of Capac, died Friday August 15, 2008 at home surrounded by loving family and friends.

He was born July 21, 1930 in Capac the son of the late Paul and Lillian Jurn Kaufman and was a lifelong area resident.

His marriage to Gail Nemecek was June 13, 1959 in Capac.

Clifford served his country with the United States Army in Korea from 1951 to 1953 with the 73rd combat engineers.

He owned and operated Kaufman’s Garage for many years and was co-owner of Romeo Transportation. He retired from Welch Trucking. After Retirement he was a crane operator for Siegel Sand & Gravel.

Surviving in addition to his wife Gail of nearly 49 years are a brother, Donald Kaufman; sisters, Betty Klug, Phyllis (William) Stroup, Nancy Clark, Janet and Huey Langley; sister-in-law, Joyce Kaufman; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Isabelle Nemecek; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Carlton Elliot and several nieces, nephews and friends and Niki Ferguson. He was preceded in death by brothers, Fordyce and Ronald; brother-in-law, Hillyard Klug, sister-in-law, Anne Kaufman; brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Alice) Nemecek and Richard Nemecek; sisters and brothers-in-law, Johanna and John Proppe, Janet and Tony Zientak, Marilyn Rowe and Lois Nemecek.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today (Wed., Aug. 20) with 10 a.m. visiting at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. A Masonic service by Forest Lodge #126 was held Tuesday. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Mussey Township under auspices of the Albert A. Glassford American Legion Post #142.
