Robert H. Emmons

Age: 87
Robert H. Emmons, 87, formerly of Almont, passed away August 11, 2008 in Grayling. He was born in Almont on August 6, 1921 the son of Owen and Vera Emmons.

“Bob’’ served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and participated in the battle of Leyte Gulf. He also served in many capacities in the Coast Guard Auxiliary in the ’60s and ’70s. He owned and operated Emmons Men’s Wear and Capac Packaged Medicine in Capac for many years. Before he retired to the Grayling area, he was a realtor in the Mt. Clemens area.

Bob was an avid sportsman, hunter, boating enthusiast, and nature lover. He also taught Sunday school years ago at St. John Lutheran Church in Capac.

He is survived by his wife, Francis (Jill) Emmons of Grayling; daughter, Virginia O’Hara of Cazenovia, N.Y.; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kim Emmons of Capac; sister, Marlene Emmons of Morrisville, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Betsy (Jeff) Roush and family of Indianapolis, IN; stepdaughter, Pam (Joe) Ryan and family of Fenton; and eight grandchildren, Erik (Tami) Emmons, Joshua Emmons, Casey Emmons, Stephen Meharg, Cody Emmons, Heather (O’Hara) Bouck and spouse T.J., Ryan O’Hara and Sean O’Hara. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Elizabeth and Owen Emmons. He will be missed and loved by all.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. in Almont-Hough Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
