Karen Walker, 66, of Imlay City passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 surrounded by her family at home.
Karen Celia Gass was born on June 1, 1941 in Almont. She was the daughter of Donald and Dessie E. (DeCamp) Gass.
She spent most of her life in the area. Karen was a graduate of Imlay City High School class of 1959. She attended Mott Community College for Business after high school.
Karen had been employed with Lapeer Co. Credit Union in Lapeer for 15+ years and she worked for Imlay City State Bank for 15 years in the Mortgage Dept.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Imlay City. She held the church treasurer position and she was the church organist and a faithful servant.
Karen is survived by her mother, Dessie Gass of Imlay City; daughter, Jeanie (Gary) Bowlsby of Attica; granddaughter, Amanda Walker of Attica; and very special care givers Elizabeth Schutz and Cody Titsworth. She is preceded in death by her father Donald Gass and grandparents Hugh and Celia DeCamp.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 25 at First Baptist Church in Imlay City. Pastor Gary Freel and Pastor Donald Keller officiated.
