Age: 65
Gerald J. DuFresne, Sr. 65, of Almont passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Brianís House Hospice Facility in Davison.

He was born January 8, 1943 in Detroit the son of Theodore and Leona (Butcher) DuFresne. He graduated from Berkley High School and then from Wayne State University in 1966 with a Bachelor in Science Degree.

Jerry married Cheryl Belcynski Engle in 1995 in Southgate, MI. He began his career as a pharmacist at Cunningham Drugs in Detroit, going on to work for various independent pharmacies. In 1980 he purchased Rose Pharmacy in Detroit where he remained until 1990 at which time he purchased The Medicine Post Pharmacy in Eastpointe working there until 1995 when he moved to Almont and worked at Hendersonís Pharmacy. In 1999 he and his wife Cheryl opened Creative Compounding Center in Lapeer which they now operate in Imlay City. Jerry was a member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dryden, the Almont Historical Society, the IACP, PCCA and ACA.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his children Dawn (Blaise) Beltowski of Florida, Shawn (Cathy) DuFresne of Clawson, Gerald J. (Tracy) DuFresne, Jr. of Midlothian, VA, Aimee (Ben Morgans) DuFresne of London, England and one step-son, John Engle of East Pointe. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Blaise, Shelby, Joshua and Adam. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mylan DuFresne.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dryden with Rev. Steven Helms, pastor officiating. Burial was made in Ferguson Cemetery, Almont. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Memorial Garden at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dryden.

Funeral arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
