Phyllis 'Peg' Geda

Phyllis “Peg’’ Geda, 72, of Lapeer, a lifetime area resident passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008.

She was born November 4, 1935 in Flint to Howard and Marie (Wood) Burgess.

She married Laurence “Larry’’ Geda on January 28, 1956 in Hadley.

Mrs. Geda was the former owner of the Americana Flower Shop in North Branch. She taught floriculture and landscaping for many years. She loved the outdoors and all of nature, and instilled that to everyone near to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Peg’s family would like to thank everyone at Suncrest who enabled her to return home following her stroke in April.

She is survived by her children, Joel (Jan Praefke) Geda, Lynne (Dan) Rose, Lauri (Gus) Schocke and Jeff (Tammie) Geda, all of Lapeer; grandchildren, Autumn Rose (Kurt) Lomerson, Velvet Schocke, Drew Geda, Caley Geda, Bryce Geda, Forrest Rose, Albert Schocke, and Emma Geda; great-grandson, Treighton Lomerson; and sister-in-law, Virginia Geda. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Geda in 2003; her parents; and sister, Eunice Klein.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lapeer with Pastor John Kaiser officiating. Arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.

Memorials may be made to Suncrest Auxiliary or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
