John Sollman, 68, of Lum, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy.
John Lyle Sollman was born on October 25, 1939 in Lum. He was a son of John Ernest and Retha (McNary) Sollman. He grew up in Lum and spent most ofh is life in Lum and the Imlay City area.
John had been a former Arcadia (Lum) fire chief. He had some draft horses for a while in the 1960’s and ’70’s. He had been employed at Inner City Trucking. He delivered auto parts between auto plants.
He is survived by 7 daughters, Deborah Sollman of Marlette, Diane (Tony) Stevens of Oklahoma, Kristen (Dave) Kinney of Brown City, Rosemary Sollman of Indiana, Cheryl (Larry) Touchette of Imlay City, Charlene (Thomas) Miller of Texas, and Sandra (Kenneth) Gertcher of Rochester Hills; 3 sons, Robert (Maureen) Sollman of Peck, Kenton Sollman of Missouri and Steven (Gana) Sollman of Lum; one brother, Douglas (Jennie) Sollman of Imlay City; two sisters, Lorraine O’Dell of Lum and Jauneta (Burton) Kincaid of Bad Axe; 26 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, February 5 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Jerry Schriber officiated. Burial followed at Arcadia Township Cemetery.
