Thomas E. Dempsey, 85, of Dryden passed away Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Town-ship. He was born April 28, 1922 in Avoca the son of Michael and Blanche (Sade) Dempsey.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in Italy, France and Malta, and married Virginia Brown on February 7, 1948 in Detroit. He worked for General Motors as a process engineer until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Dempsey was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden where he served as an usher and a member of the Almont Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; one son, Kenneth of Dryden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Burris and Margaret Morris; and two brothers, Jack and Joseph Dempsey.
Funeral services were held Monday at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden with Rev. Fr. Wayne Ureel officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden.
