Ruthann (Ruby) Mont-gomery, 66, of Richmond Twp., formerly of Imlay City, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center.

Ruthann was born October 17, 1940 in Dryden Twp., a daughter of Kenneth and Gertrude (nee Weingartz) Ruby. She was a 1959 graduate of Imlay City High School. On July 1, 1967, Ruthann married Thomas Russ Montgomery at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City.

Ruthann was a former employee of Almont Community Hospital, Dr. Haney, Dr. Bishop and the Roth-Muir Funeral Home in Romeo. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and its Altar Society in Richmond.

Ruthann was a past president of the Armada Civic Trade Association; active with the Armada Applefest; and a past president of the Imlay City VFW Post Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a former member of St. Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Church and its choir. She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary James Coleman VFW Post 6802 in Rich-mond and also its publicity and campaign chairman. She also was an assistant superintendent at the Armada Fair, a faithful volunteer for many organizations and also enjoyed camping.

Surviving are her husband, Tom; son, Paul (Lisa) Montgomery of North Street; brother, Ronald (Pat) Ruby of Hubbard Lake; sister, Rose Mary Ruby of Imlay City; stepmother, Loretta Ruby of Mt. Pleasant; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nancy Neill of Farmington, Joyce (Dave) Jenkins of North Carolina, Jim Mont-gomery, Susan (Dean) Bruy-neel, and Vern (Janice) Hebb, all of Richmond; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother in 1985 and her father in 1999.

A Funeral Mass took place Saturday, August 4, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Horn officiating. Burial followed in Richmond Cemetery.

On Friday evening a VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary service and a scripture service was held at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home in Armada.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond or to Hospice of Michigan, 400 Mack Ave., Detroit, MI 48201.
