Julia Walker, 90, of Imlay City, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at her home.

Julia Mary Lapeer, was born on May 24, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Joseph Rufus & Evelyna Mae (McKerraher) Lapeer. She spent most of her life in the community. Julia attended Sandhill Country School in Almont and was Lapeer Co. Press Spelling Bee award winner for the 8th grade.

Julia married Neil Victor Walker on July 30, 1936 in Yale, Michigan. Neil passed away on March 18, 1987.

She attended Crossroad (North Goodland) Baptist Church & West Goodland United Methodist Church. Julia was also a member & involved with Farm Bureau, the 4-H Club and the F.F.A. club.

Julia is survived by her children: Victor Walker of Cheyenne, WY, Lois Dockham of Imlay City and Virginia (Doug) Kalbfleisch of Lapeer. 9 grandchildren: Laurie (Gordon) MacDonald, Vicki Powell, Scott (Beverly) Walker, John (Julie) Dockham, Kristi Dockham, Teresa (Richard) Upleger, Jason Kalbfleisch, Julie Kalbfleisch, Brock McClelland. 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters: Jennie Lawrence of Lapeer, & Leona Clair of Springfield, MO.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband Neil Walker, daughter: Vivian Stancroff, son-in-law: Raymon Dockham, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 Main Street, Imlay City, Reverend Donald Krohn of Crossroad (North Goodland) Baptist church will officiate, with interment at Goodland Township Cemetery.

Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home, where the family will be available for visiting from 2 - 5 & 6 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007.

Memorials may be made to Crossroad (North Goodland) Baptist Church.
