Alfred 'Fred' Kurowski

Alfred “Fred’’ Kurowski, 85, of Dryden, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his home.

Alfred was born on July 24, 1921 in Detroit. He was the son of Frank and Mary (Skrzycka) Kurowski.

Fred graduated from Belleville High School class of 1940. He has been in the community since 1981. He was previously of Taylor and Westland.

Fred married Lottie Julia Radyko on August 22, 1942 in Detroit. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He had been employed for 33 years at Star Cutler of Farmington where he was a tool maker. Fred also worked for Motco Tool in Farmington and Valeron in Detroit.

Fred was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lottie Kurowski of Dryden; son, Gary (Joy) Kurowski of Metamora; daughters, Diana (Robert) Nast of Oakland Twp. and Sandra (Charles) McFarlin of Dryden; 8 grandchildren, Rob Nast, Jodi Estevez, Kari Messina, Traci Mollica, Todd McFarlin, Brent McFarlin, Mickey Kurowski, and Dina Phipps; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Kurowski and Hendrick Kurowski.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today (Wed., July 25) at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. Father Wayne Ureel will officiate with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

A scripture service was held Tuesday evening at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.

Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice, American Cancer Society, Visiting Nurses Assn. or St. Cornelius Catholic Church.
