John ‘Jack’ Weston Phipps

John “Jack’’ Weston Phipps, 60, went home to be with Jesus on June 4, 2007.

Jack was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 20, 1946. He lived in Dryden for 36 years.

Jack was employed at Ford Motor Company for 40 years, where he worked as the powerhouse engineer. He enjoyed competitive sports such as biking, running and canoeing. He served the Dryden Township Library as a board member for 30 years and he was an active member of Dryden Wesleyan Church for 18 years.

Jack faithfully and honorably served his country as a Military Police (MP) during the Vietnam War. He received a commendation medal for heroism.

He is the beloved husband to Adele; dear father to Cheryl (Mike) Antushevich of Dryden, John (Dina) Phipps of Tucson, AZ and Matt Phipps of Imlay City; and loving grandfather to Noel, Michael, Troy, Weston and Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Dryden Wesleyan Church. Pastor Daniel Wilson and Pastor John Phipps will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden.

The family will be available for visiting from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today (Wed., June 6) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to “Fathers Heart Church” (a special needs ministry), P.O. Box 373, Dryden, Michigan 48428.

Funeral arrangements were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
