Howard F. Stuart, 86, recently of Port Huron, formerly of Hazel Park died Friday, May 25, 2007 after an extended illness at Evangelical Homes in Port Huron.

Howard was born October 7, 1920 in Port Huron to Charles and Olive (Harp) Stuart. He graduated from Port Huron High School. After high school, he studied diesel engines, electrical engineering and law. He earned his Private Pilotís License and he was an avid ham radio operator.

During his lifetime, he worked for Chrysler Corporation in Marysville; he was an engineer for Packard Motors Co., Pressed Metals of American and retired from Vickerís, Inc. (where he assembled aircraft hydraulic motors and pumps and constructed test stands to test hydraulic circuits).

Howard is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Nancy (Stephen) Martiny of Marysville, Charlene Roberts of Oakville, Ont., and Barbara Sulkowski of Hazel Park; son, Howard (Rebecca) Stuart, Jr. of Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. today (Wed., May 30) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Officiating are Pastor Peter DeKlerk and Pastor James Lorch of the Hunters Creek Community Church in Lapeer. Interment will follow on Thursday at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills.

Visitation will be today from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions may want to consider the Hunters Creek Community Church in Lapeer.
