Calling all high school students: It is time to let your creativity flourish! St. Clair County Community Mental Health invites all local high school students to participate in the Mental Health Month High School Art Contest! The theme for this year's contest is "RECOVERY STARTS WITH CHOICE." The deadline for submission is Tuesday, March 1, 2011.
St. Clair County CMH believes in promoting opportunities for discovery and recovery. There are many pathways an individual may take to accomplish this. These pathways include: Hope, Choice, Empowerment, Spirituality and Community Support. For the past seven years, SCCCMH has conducted a high school creative art contest to help educate the public about the importance of these pathways for individuals who live with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse disorders. This year, contestants are being asked to incorporate the importance of CHOICE in each individual's recovery.
Any student who is in high school is invited to participate. You need not be enrolled in an art class to enter. All artwork must be the original, individual work of a student currently attending a St. Clair County high school. All submissions must be hand created work, not computer generated, using any medium.
