I would like to thank all of the residents of Emmett who voted for me to serve as Trustee of Emmett township. I fought a tough race against my opponent John Kowalski.
I would like to thank all of the township officials who I have had the pleasure of working with:
Township Supervisor Pat Brozowski, who has written and received grant money to do ditching in our township, as well as her work with the road commission and the drain commission to keep our roads safe. She always does her best to resolve any issues that our residents may have.
Clerk Beverly Brown who is available to help our residents with any concerns, and the everyday business of running our township.
Treasurer Carrie Kot who has put all of the township's tax bills online so they are available to look at 24/7 from your computer at home. She also compiled the same information in a book that is at the township hall for residents to come and look up tax information for themselves. I have found out for myself how easy it is to use.
Trustee Dawn Cowhy, who is responsible for keeping transparency in our local township by reviewing the budget and matters pertaining to the township.
Assessor Vern Pearl who took on the job of overseeing the accurate reappraisal of our entire township; passing the state's 14 point review with 100%. Before he came to work for our township we had failed this review receiving 0% and were in danger of the state taking over our assessing department.
Thank you as well to the entire Planning Commission: Eugene Lottie, Susan Dumas, Christopher Heiden and Scott Mueller. They work hard to make sure that all ordinances that are passed serve the safety and well being of our community from lending in the Farmland Preservation Amendment to a Heavy Industrial Use amendment, making our community a better place for us all.
Thank you. It has been my pleasure to have the opportunity to work with all of you.
