On behalf of Capac's Pack 200 Cub Scouts (K-5th grade), I'd like to recognize the residents of the Village of Capac.
Pack 200 set out to collect a goal of 500 pounds of food and toiletries by Saturday, November 13. The Cub Scouts distributed bags door to door (graciously donated by the Imlay City Kroger), throughout the village limits during the days prior and then collected the donations on Saturday. The response was overwhelming. There was so much canned and boxed food, and toiletries donated that the scales were tipped. All donations were delivered to the Capac Food Pantry and the C3 Connection of Capac, and it is estimated that over 750 pounds of donations were collected—far surpassing the 500 pound goal set forth. Representatives at both pantries were amazed at the amount of goods that were collected that day. They said that the charity of the Capac community is never-ending and will help tremendously as the holiday seasons approach. I'd also like to thank all of the volunteer adults that assisted in this event. Without their dedication to the kids and the community, this Scouting event could not have been as successful. And, the biggest kudos goes to the charitable residents of Capac!
