Big thank-you for new Imlay City shot put area

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Imlay City Spartan Track and Field program, I would like to give a sincere thanks to all those who helped construct a new shot put area for our student athletes.

The project was spearheaded by Middle School track coach, Randy Jager, after witnessing the need for improvement at the facility.

Materials for the job were graciously provided by Novak's, Schutz's Tree Farm and Brian Walla. Jeff Schutz also provided the equipment and gave two work days of his own to ensure the quality of the job.

Hoeksema and Jager Farms provided the finishing touches of spreading and raking the pit to complete the site. Furthermore, generous funding was provided by Lindy's Pre-Pak Carrots, Van Dyke Farms, Hoeksema and Jager Farms and the Jager Family—Randy, Lori, Ashley and Jordan.

Thank you all for your generosity and willingness to help out our student athletes. They are already looking forward to competing in their shot put area in the spring. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

—Steve Lestage
