HDC helps create opportunities for poor


To the Editor:

The Human Development Commission along with many other community organizations would like to thank the people that supported the Opportunity Conference that was recently held for people who live in poverty. The conference touched the lives of nearly 125 people. Supporters included: Sandusky Walmart, Bad Axe Walmart, Lapeer Walmart, Office Depot in Lapeer, Meijer in Lapeer, Majestic Skylink in Caro, The Walker Group, Harvey Gerstenberger, Janet Ellis, Raymond Hardware, Heather Kautz, Jessica Beatty, Janine Beatty, Steve Vaughan, Marlette Regional Hospital, Hills and Dales Hospital, Craig McManaman D.O., Thumb Cellular, K-mart in Bad Axe, McDonald's Food and Family in Bad Axe, Jerry's Foodland in Sandusky, Davenport University, VG's Pharmacy in Caro, Chiropractic of Vassar, China Lee, Rite Aid in Sandusky, Rite Aid in Marlette, Croswell Greenhouse, Michigan Great Lakes Medical Aesthetics, Autumnwood of Deckerville, Billy Bones BBQ Sauce, Croswell Library, Bungart Farms, Gordon Food Service, Scheurer Hospital, Chelsea Milling Company, Ace Hardware of Sandusky, Team One Credit Union, State Street Pharmacy, Dr. Michael Misko, Thomas & Chappel Dentistry, and Dr. Tiseo. Without the generous support of these community minded organizations and individuals, this life-changing event would not have reached such a level of success.
